Feeding the Homeless is Helping the Hopeless

Feeding the Homeless is Helping the Hopeless

Food is a lifeline for those living on the streets, or off it. There is nothing better than a full belly. This is why we made it our mission to provide nutritious meals to the hungry, or the homeless.

Helping the Homeless

Even during this pandemic, some families in Paranaque City went homeless when they were told to vacate their homes because of a court order for demolition. With nowhere to go, the families took shelter in the Palanyag Gym in Barangay San Dionisio.

Quick Action

The Palanyag Gym houses the SPECS Foundation’s Drop-In Center. The Community and Outreach Program Team, seeing the families with crying children, went into action. They prepared hot meals for more than three hundred (300) individuals. They also offered prayer and counseling services to the families to help them talk about the situation and thus defuse some of the anxiety they may be feeling.

Falling Through the Cracks

We all hit bumps in the road of life. The question is, what if they live within these bumps that land them in the ditch? They feel helpless, hopeless, and victims to whatever they are experiencing. We, at SPECS Foundation, took it upon our shoulders to help those who need it. But we also need your help.

About Specs Foundation

Our team is composed of highly skilled Social Workers, Pastors, Care Workers and efficient Administrators. We all come together to ensure that the children, families and communities under our programs are given the best support and care possible.

SPECS was started in 1986 by a group of Christian workers who saw the hunger, and risks the children were exposed to. They undertook the management and delivery of the different services and care for the poor families in the various communities in Pasay City. In 1987, it was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission as a non-profit, non-stock, non-government organization. In 2002, SPECS built a home for boys and girls in Pasay City.
