Strengthen Parents’ Involvement in Their Kids’ Education

Strengthen Parents’ Involvement in Their Kids’ Education

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

Parents have a heavy and lasting impact on kid’s learning. Research indicates that when parents are involved in their children’s learning, children achieve better results, are more engaged with school work, and stay in school longer. This also translates into long-term economic and social advantages.

Goals

ESP believes that the most effective method to success in academics is not socioeconomic status, nor school prestige that a child attends. The best predictor of a child’s success in education is the extent to which parents encourage learning at home and how much they involve themselves in their kid’s education. When parents are involved in their child’s school life and they have the home support and knowledge they need to not only finish their homework, they also develop a lifelong love of learning.

One Step at a Time

ESP continuously supports and nurtures the dreams of their scholars. But that’s just part and parcel of the bigger picture. Parents influence their children’s attitudes about learning. Hence, from time to time, ESP will hold online “kumustahan” and meeting with the parents of the scholars to solidify their collaborative relationship with them. And the results are good! The scholars finish schooling, mostly with flying colors.

Be Part of Their Journey

The SPECS Foundation through the Educational Sponsorship Program has helped hundreds go to school, finish their studies, and graduate. They have now started helping their families and their communities. Our happiness knows no bounds every time a scholar goes back to SPECS to give back time, monetary, or tangible gifts. If interested in helping more children have a better future, please find the donate button to see how you can help.

SPECS was started in 1986 by a group of Christian workers who saw the hunger, and risks the children were exposed to. They undertook the management and delivery of the different services and care for the poor families in the various communities in Pasay City. In 1987, it was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission as a non-profit, non-stock, non-government organization. In 2002, SPECS built a home for boys and girls in Pasay City.
