A heartfelt thank you to all our GA members, partners, and friends of SPECS who joined us for our General Assembly 2025! Your presence and support are essential as we continue our mission to reach more children in need of a loving home. 🏠✨
Part 1: Heartfelt Testimonials from Former Clients
At the heart of every gathering are the stories that remind us why we do what we do. During the General Assembly, we had the honor of hearing from two former clients whose lives have been transformed through SPECS’ Residential Care and Educational Sponsorship Program.
Renzo’s Story
Renzo, a former client of SPECS’ Residential Care and Educational Sponsorship Program, shared a deeply personal testimony. He spoke of the difficult decision his mother had to make when she entrusted him to SPECS.
“My mom cried when she had to send me to the Residential Care program,” Renzo began, his voice filled with emotion. “But I understand now that it was the best thing she could have done for me. She wanted me to have a better future, and she knew that this was the path that would give me hope and opportunity.”
He went on to talk about how, even though it was hard for his family, this decision opened doors that would have otherwise remained closed. “At SPECS, I found not just a roof over my head, but a community that truly cares. Now, I’m able to pursue my education and dream of becoming someone who can give back to others, just like SPECS has given to me.”

Lianne’s Journey
Lianne, former client of SPECS’ Educational Sponsorship Program, shared her journey of self-discovery and growth. “Through SPECS, I’ve not only been able to pursue my education but also found a deeper connection to my faith and purpose,” she said, her eyes bright with passion.
“SPECS led me to discover my involvement in church, where I found my sense of belonging and purpose. It helped me discover who I am and who I want to become. SPECS has been a support not just in my academic journey, but in my emotional, social, and spiritual life as well,” Lianne continued. “It helped me build my confidence, and now I am studying Social Work because I want to understand people better and help bring light to my community. I want to be someone who makes a difference.”
Lianne’s journey exemplifies the holistic impact that SPECS strives to provide – not only shaping young minds through education but nurturing their hearts and souls as well.
Part 2: Business Meeting Highlights
The General Assembly was not only a space for heartfelt sharing but also a time to reflect on the amazing work SPECS has done over the past year.

Accomplishments & Financial Report
Our Executive Director, along with the team, proudly presented the impressive progress made in our mission, including the expansion of our Residential Care and Educational Sponsorship programs, reaching more children than ever before. With your generous support, we’ve been able to provide not only safe homes for children but also empower them with the tools to succeed in life.
The financial report showed healthy growth, thanks to our partners, sponsors, and the dedicated efforts of everyone involved. Together, we are building a future for children in need, and it’s a future that is brighter every day.

Voting for New Board Members
Our members also voted to welcome new members to our Board of Trustees. These fresh faces bring new ideas, energy, and passion to our cause. Their leadership will be instrumental in navigating the road ahead, and we look forward to the exciting developments they will bring to the table.
Tribute to Outgoing Board Members
We also took a moment to honor the dedication and service of two board members who are stepping down. Their contributions have been invaluable in steering SPECS toward new heights. Their legacy of leadership will continue to guide us as we move forward.

A Tribute to Our Founding Executive Director
In a moment of reflection, we turned our attention to the memory of Ptra. Miriam S. Macaspac, who passed away recently. Their vision, passion, and dedication laid the foundation for everything SPECS stands for today. The room was filled with both laughter and tears as we remembered the impact they had on all of us and the countless lives they touched.
“We will carry their legacy forward, honoring their memory by continuing to do the work they so passionately believed in.”
The Road Ahead: Excitement and Hope
As we wrap up this year’s General Assembly, we are not just celebrating our accomplishments – we’re looking ahead to a future filled with promise. The challenges are great, but so are the opportunities. With the love and dedication of each one of you, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
The laughter in the room during the program reminded us of the joy we bring to others, while the somber moments of tribute grounded us in the importance of this mission. Together, we are a family – a community that supports and uplifts each other.
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s move forward into the next year with excitement, hope, and determination.
We can’t wait to see what we will accomplish together. 💙
